Mauricius je ostrovní stát v Indickém oceánu asi 900 km východně od Madagaskaru. Tvoří ho stejnojmenný ostrov vulkanického původu o rozloze 1 865 km² s pobřežím dlouhým 330 km, které je téměř kompletně obklopeno korálovým útesem, a dále ostrov Rodrigues o rozloze 108 km² vzdálený 560 km severovýchodně od hlavního ostrova a několik menších ostrovů. Jeho celková rozloha je 1865 km² a počet obyvatel jen něco málo přes 1,2 miliónu.
Pro golfisty a vyznavače klidu doporučujeme Belle Mare na východě ostrova, k pokladům patří letovisko Flic en Flac na dosah národního parku Black River, mimořádně exponovaná je severozápadní část ostrova s letovisky Trou aux Biches a Grand Baie a jihovýchodu kraluje Blue Bay.
